BIOGRAPHY

I have had extensive experience as a performer. As well as being a lead singer in two successful function bands, I have depped for a number of other bands and sung session vocals for a variety of recording projects.
Here is a list of some of my work:
• Recordings and competing in ‘Live and Unsigned’ competitions with songwriter Heath Lanzillotti.
• Dueting with pianists in venues across Manchester.
• Lead vocalist Leeds-based to professional function band ‘The Beat Collective’.
• Function acoustic gigs with pianist for Italian restaurant Larocca, Clarence Dock, Leeds.
• Member of novelty girl band ‘Dolly Pop’, who perform in venues across Leeds for functions, parties and festivals (Hexham Abbey Festival 2008), currently working with local schools on music projects.
• Solo singer in casinos in Manchester area.
• Recorded session with Alistair Griffin, professional singer and songwriter, Fame Academy 2004.

THE ACOUSTIC COLLECTIVE

This small but effective act, comprised of vocal, guitar and cajon has entertained many audiences from festivals to intimate bar settings and restaurants. Covering as many styles as possible, the group is sure to appeal to a mulitude of audiences, and is especially appropriate for those who want the luxury of listening to popular music but not as a full band.

The Beat Collective are an eclectic and popular 6-piece function band from Leeds.
Fronted by two versatile singers, the band provides an energetic and exciting performance. Covering as many musical styles as possible, from 50s rock and roll to contemporary R & B in order to cater for all types of functions we pride ourselves on always attempting to tailor every performance to best suit our clients’ needs.
The band also offer a range of pre-band reception warm-ups including:

• Soulful melodies from our piano & vocal duet (see piano/vocal duo)
• Smooth grooves from acoustic guitar, vocal & cajon
  (see Acoustic Beats)
• A touch of class with classical nylon
  string guitar

We even provide recorded music
before, between sets and after
the band has finished.

PIANO & VOCAL DUO

As key members of The Beat Collective, Chris Young and Ann Hudson also provide duo piano and vocal sets which are available to play at any occasion, from background entertainment in bars and restaurants to church services at weddings.
Ann also gigs with two others pianists in and around the Manchester area.
